My show-running and executive producer credits span film, television, radio, digital and analogue games, and even comic books through my work on the largest print run in sub-Saharan Africa. I’ve worked across platforms in the UK and abroad and created authentic story worlds which engage audiences on a visceral and deeply emotional level.
With my solid television and film background and my passion for digital, I’m happy to lead both script development and strategy. But, I also love getting hands-on, directing, producing, and being part of a team. I’ve regularly run writers rooms and story-produced both in Bangladesh and Kenya. I’m skilful at starting from a blank page and taking a project through to delivery and well-publicised distribution.
Sailing Against the Tide is a Bangladeshi television drama. As showrunner / executive producer, I was embedded in the production from running the writers’ room, scripting, managing a complex shoots, to post-production and broadcast delivery including publicity and distribution.
I was Head of Production for Shujaaz, an Emmy award-winning youth channel based in Nairobi. I lead the creative process across comics, radio, social, SMS, and the web.
As Head of TV and Digital Media, I extended the multi-platform youth channel Shujaaz into broadcast TV. I developed a weekly magazine show containing drama, factual content, and post-broadcast online content. I also developed the company’s digital strategy.
Set in a fictional slum on the outskirts of Nairobi, Jongo Love was nominated for an International Digital Emmy in 2013. Executed across multiple platforms, in total, I executive-produced 36 episodes of radio drama, thirteen episodes of TV drama, a feature film shot entirely on a smartphone, and numerous comic book stories.
Executive Producer on Hela Hela, a board game which promoted youth entrepreneurship skills.
